WordCamp Kathmandu 2026 Set for September 18–19 at Alice Receptions

WordCamp Kathmandu 2026 is officially happening on September 18–19, 2026, at Alice Receptions, Gairidhara, Kathmandu.

As one of the largest annual gathering of the WordPress community in Nepal and South Asia, the event will bring together WordPress users, developers, designers, bloggers, content creators, business owners, students, agencies, contributors, and community members from Nepal and beyond.

The event will take place over two days, with Contributor Day on September 18 and Conference Day on September 19.

Event Highlights

WordCamp Kathmandu 2026 is designed for people at every stage of their WordPress journey, from beginners to experienced professionals.

The event will offer sessions, workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities covering WordPress, web development, design, content, business, community, and the wider digital ecosystem.

The main goals of the event are simple:

  • Learn & Grow: Learn from sessions created for different skill levels, from beginners to experts. Practical skills, new trends, techniques, workshops, and expert discussions will help attendees learn and grow.
  • Connect: Meet WordPress community members, developers, designers, and speakers from Nepal and other countries.
  • Contribute: Take part in Contributor Day and help improve WordPress through different areas of contribution.
  • Explore: Discover the connection between Kathmandu Valley’s extraordinary art, rituals, and crafts and the spirit of open-source collaboration.

The theme, “Where Ancient Culture Meets Open Source,” connects Kathmandu’s long tradition of craftsmanship with the collaborative nature of WordPress.

From the Newari woodcarvings of Bhaktapur to the sacred flame of a temple oil lamp, Kathmandu represents a living tradition of art and craft. WordCamp Kathmandu 2026 brings that cultural spirit together with the open-source values of WordPress.

Two Days, Two Stages

The programme will cover two full days of sessions, workshops, networking, and contribution.

Day 1: Contributor Day — September 18, 2026

The first day is dedicated to giving back to WordPress.

Contributor Day will bring together new and experienced contributors to learn about different contribution areas and actively work to improve WordPress.

Activities will include areas such as:

  • WordPress Core
  • Translation

New contributors will have the opportunity to learn from experienced community members and understand how to get started with contributing to WordPress.

The day will focus on collaboration, mentorship, and open-source contribution.

Contributor Day Table Leads will come from Nepal, Bangladesh, and India, creating an opportunity for contributors from across the region to work and learn together.

WordPress is built by people who contribute their time, knowledge, and skills. Contributor Day provides a welcoming place for both new and experienced contributors to become part of that story.
